INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:

The vehicle is equipped with an SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). Before servicing (including removal or installation of parts), be sure to read the precaution for Supplemental Restraint System (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000KT107KX.html).

1. Check if the illumination for the navigation receiver assembly, steering pad switch, glove box or others (hazard switch, transmission control switch, etc.) comes on when the light control switch is turned to the tail or head position.
   
   

   Result:

   
   

   Result	Proceed to
   Illumination comes on for all components except steering pad switch.	A
   Illumination comes on for all components except navigation receiver assembly.	B
   No illumination comes on (navigation receiver assembly, hazard switch, glove box, etc.).	C
   Illumination comes on for all components except navigation receiver assembly and steering pad switch.	D

1. Disconnect the spiral cable connector.
   

2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Voltage:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   E18-12 (IL+2) - Body ground	Light control switch in tail or head	11 to 14 V

1. Disconnect the steering pad switch and spiral cable connectors.
   

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   a1-8 (EAU) - E18-4 (EAU)	Center	Below 1 Ω
   	2.5 rotations to the left
   	2.5 rotations to the right
   a1-5 (IL+2) - E18-12 (IL+2)	Center	Below 1 Ω
   	2.5 rotations to the left
   	2.5 rotations to the right

   NOTICE:

   The spiral cable is an important part of the SRS airbag system. Incorrect removal or installation of the spiral cable may prevent the airbag from deploying. Refer to the pages shown in the brackets.

   HINT:

1. Disconnect the steering pad switch assembly connector.
   

2. Connect a positive (+) lead to terminal IL+2 and a negative (-) lead to terminal EAU of the steering pad switch connector.
   

   
   
   
   

3. Check if the illumination for the steering pad switch comes on.
   

   OK:

   Illumination for the steering pad switch assembly comes on.

1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.
   

2. Disconnect the spiral cable connector.
   

3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F24-6 (SWG) - E18-4 (EAU)	Always	Below 1 Ω
   F24-6 (SWG) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher

1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.
   

2. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Voltage:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F27-10 (ILL+) - Body ground	Light control switch in tail or head	11 to 14 V

1. Disconnect the navigation receiver assembly connector.
   

2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
   

   Standard Resistance:

   Tester Connection	Condition	Specified Condition
   F27-7 (GND) - Body ground	Always	10 kΩ or higher
