DESCRIPTION

The auto wiper relay controls the front wiper motor.

1.INSPECT WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

Remove the windshield wiper motor assembly (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000001PKQ002X_01_0002.html).

Check the LO operation (for LHD).
1. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal B1-5 (+1) of the connector, and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal B1-4 (E), and check that the motor operates at low speed.

Check the HI operation (for LHD).
1. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal B1-3 (+2) of the connector, and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal B1-1 (S), and check that the motor operates at high speed.

Check the LO operation (for RHD).
1. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal B1-1 (+1) of the connector, and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal B1-5 (E), and check that the motor operates at low speed.

Check the HI operation (for RHD).
1. Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal B1-4 (+2) of the connector, and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal B1-3 (S), and check that the motor operates at high speed.

REPLACE WINDSHIELD WIPER MOTOR ASSEMBLY

OK

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (WIPER MOTOR - WIPER RELAY, BODY GROUND)

Disconnect the E26 windshield wiper relay assembly (auto wiper relay) connector.

Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:

for LHD:

for RHD:

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE
