CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT - BODY GROUND)

INSPECT TRANSPONDER KEY ECU ASSEMBLY

ENGINE IMMOBILISER SYSTEM (w/o Entry and Start System) - Security Indicator Light Circuit


DESCRIPTION

When the transponder key is registered, the transponder key ECU assembly outputs the key registration condition by lighting up, blinking or turning off the security indicator.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
If the transponder key ECU assembly is replaced, register the key and ECU communication ID.
1.PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING INTELLIGENT TESTER
  1. Connect the intelligent tester (with CAN VIM) to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.

  1. Perform the ACTIVE TEST according to the display on the tester.

    IMMOBILISER:
    Tester Display
    Test Part
    Control Range
    Diagnostic Note
    Security Indic
    Turn security indicator
    ON/OFF
    -
    OK:
    Security indicator turns on and off.

PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (TRANSPONDER KEY ECU - SECURITY INDICATOR LIGHT)

  1. Disconnect the E15 ECU and F3 combination meter connectors.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    E15-8 (IND) - F3-8 (LP)
    Always
    Below 1 Ω
    E15-8 (IND) - Body ground
    10 kΩ or higher

  1. Reconnect the E15 ECU and F3 combination meter connectors.

  1. Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard voltage:
    Tester Connection
    Condition
    Specified Condition
    E15-8 (IND) - Body ground
    Immobiliser set state
    (No key is in ignition key cylinder)
    Repeats 10 to 14 V and below 1 V
