Air Conditioning Control Assembly -- Removal

NOTICE:
After the ignition switch is turned off, the navigation receiver assembly (HDD navigation system) records various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, make sure to wait at least 60 seconds before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL


3. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.



4. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly.



5. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.



6. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.



7. REMOVE FLOOR SHIFT POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Disengage the 6 claws and the 3 clips, and then remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly.

  1. with Seat Heater System:

    1. Disconnect each connector.



8. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL (for Manual Transaxle)

  1. Open the lid of the upper console panel.

  1. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 claws and the 5 clips, and then remove the upper console panel as shown in the illustration.

  1. with Seat Heater System:

    1. Disconnect each connector.



9. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Automatic Transaxle)

  1. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.



10. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE REAR PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Manual Transaxle)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips, and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.



11. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 screws <F>.

  1. Disengage the 4 claws.

  1. Disconnect each connector and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.

    HINT:
    Set the shift lever in the D position.


12. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL NO. 2 REGISTER ASSEMBLY

  1. Apply protective tape to the areas shown in the illustration.

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 3 clips.



    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Using a moulding remover, disengage the 4 clips.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the instrument panel No. 2 register assembly.



13. REMOVE RADIO TUNER OPENING COVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/o Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts <N>.

  1. Disengage the 6 clips and remove the radio tuner opening cover with heater control panel assembly.

  1. Disconnect the connector.



14. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Radio Receiver)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Pull the radio receiver with heater control panel assembly toward the rear of the vehicle and disengage the 4 clips.

  1. Disconnect each connector and remove the radio receiver with heater control panel assembly.



15. REMOVE NAVIGATION RECEIVER WITH HEATER CONTROL PANEL ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts.

  1. Pull the navigation receiver with heater control panel assembly toward the rear of the vehicle and disengage the 4 clips.

  1. Disconnect each connector and remove the navigation receiver with heater control panel assembly.



16. REMOVE RADIO NO. 1 BRACKET (w/o Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and radio No. 1 bracket.



17. REMOVE RADIO NO. 1 BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and radio No. 1 bracket.



18. REMOVE RADIO NO. 1 BRACKET (w/ Navigation System)


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and radio No. 1 bracket.



19. REMOVE RADIO NO. 2 BRACKET (w/o Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and radio No. 2 bracket.



20. REMOVE RADIO NO. 2 BRACKET (w/ Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and radio No. 2 bracket.



21. REMOVE RADIO NO. 2 BRACKET (w/ Navigation System)

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and radio No. 2 bracket.



22. REMOVE AIR CONDITIONING CONTROL ASSEMBLY (w/o Radio Receiver)

  1. Remove the air conditioning control assembly as shown in the illustration.
