Skid Control Sensor Removal

REMOVE REAR WHEEL
DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE
SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY
REMOVE REAR DISC
REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH SKID CONTROL SENSOR
Skid Control Sensor -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
- The skid control sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the skid control sensor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
2. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE |
Disconnect the skid control sensor wire from the skid control sensor.
- NOTICE:
- Be careful not to damage the skid control sensor.
3. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CALIPER ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt and separate the flexible hose from the shock absorber.
Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake caliper assembly.
- NOTICE:
- Use wire or an equivalent tool to keep the brake caliper from hanging down by the flexible hose.
Put matchmarks on the rear disc and the axle hub.
Release the parking brake and remove the rear disc.
- HINT:
- If the disc cannot be removed easily, turn and press firmly the shoe adjuster until the wheel comes free.
5. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY WITH SKID CONTROL SENSOR |
Remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with skid control sensor (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000001IXL002X_02_0005.html).
- HINT:
- The skid control sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the skid control sensor needs to be replaced, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
- If the sensor rotor needs to be replaced, replace it together with the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
