VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM - VSC Warning Light does not Come ON


DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU communicates with the combination meter via CAN communication. If the ECU stores a DTC, the DTC will be displayed on the multi information display in the combination meter.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHR00DX.html).
1.CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

  1. Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000WIB00WX.html for LHD, or CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000WIB00YX.html for RHD).

    Result:

2.CHECK VSC WARNING LIGHT

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Select "VSC Warning Lamp" in the Active Test and operate the multi information display using the intelligent tester.

    ABS / VSC / TRC:

    		Turn multi information display ON / OFF
    		Observe combination meter

  1. Check that "ON" and "OFF" of the multi information display are indicated on the combination meter when using the intelligent tester.

    OK:
    The multi information display turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester.
    HINT:
    If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHN00DX.html).

3.INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Perform Active Test of the combination meter (meter CPU) using the intelligent tester (CAMRY_ACV40 RM0000012G700LX.html).

    OK:
    The multi information display turns on or off in accordance with the intelligent tester.
    HINT:
    If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000XHN00DX.html).
