Radiator Removal

  1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

  2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

  3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET

  9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/o Headlight Cleaner System)

  10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)

  11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER

  12. SEPARATE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK HOSE

  13. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET

  14. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET

  15. DISCONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE

  16. DISCONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE

  17. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER

  18. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

  19. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  20. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION

  21. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT LOWER

Radiator -- Removal



1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH


2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH


3. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
NOTICE:
Do not remove the radiator cap sub-assembly while the engine and radiator are still hot. Pressurized, hot engine coolant and steam may be released and cause serious burns.
  1. Remove the radiator cap sub-assembly from the radiator assembly.



  1. Loosen the radiator drain cock plug and 2 cylinder block drain cock plugs, then drain the coolant.

    HINT:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.


4. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Hold the front of the V-bank cover and raise it to disengage the 2 clips on the front of the cover. Continue to raise the cover to disengage the clip on the rear of the cover and remove the cover.

    NOTICE:
    Attempting to disengage both front and rear clips at the same time may cause the cover to break.


5. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL

  1. Remove the 7 clips and intake duct seal.



6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40
  1. Disconnect the 3 vacuum hoses.

  1. Disconnect the mass air flow meter connector (*1).

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose (*2).

  1. Disconnect the hose band (*3).

  1. Disconnect the 3 bands, and remove the air cleaner cap sub-assembly.



7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 bolts, clamp and air cleaner inlet.



8. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40
  1. Remove the bolt and No. 1 air cleaner inlet.



9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/o Headlight Cleaner System)

  1. Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly.

  1. Using a screwdriver, turn the pin 90 degrees and remove the pin hold clip.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.

  1. Remove the 8 screws, 2 clips, 2 radiator grille protectors and bolt.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  1. Disconnect each connector, and then remove the front bumper assembly.



10. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ASSEMBLY (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)

  1. Put protective tape around the front bumper assembly.

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the front bumper assembly as shown in the illustration.

    HINT:
    Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  1. Disconnect each connector.

  1. Disconnect the headlight cleaner washer hose, and then remove the front bumper assembly.



11. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER ENERGY ABSORBER


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40
  1. Remove the front bumper energy absorber from the front bumper reinforcement sub-assembly.



12. SEPARATE RADIATOR RESERVE TANK HOSE

  1. Separate the radiator reserve tank hose from the radiator assembly.



13. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE INLET

  1. Separate the radiator inlet hose from the radiator assembly.



14. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40
  1. Separate the radiator outlet hose from the radiator assembly.



15. DISCONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER INLET HOSE

  1. Separate the No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose from the radiator assembly.



16. DISCONNECT NO. 1 OIL COOLER OUTLET HOSE

  1. Separate the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose from the radiator assembly.



17. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT UPPER
  1. Disconnect the horn connector.

  1. Remove the 3 bolts and separate the hood lock assembly from the radiator support upper.

  1. For LHD:
    Remove the clamp and separate the hood lock control cable from the radiator support upper.

  1. For RHD:
    Remove the clamp and separate the hood lock control cable from the radiator support upper.

  1. Remove the 5 bolts and radiator support upper.



18. REMOVE FAN SHROUD

  1. Remove the 3 clamps and connector.

  1. Release the 3 snap fits and lift the fan assembly with motor from the radiator.



19. REMOVE RADIATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and separate the condenser assembly from the radiator assembly.

  1. Remove the radiator assembly from the body.



20. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT CUSHION

  1. Remove the 2 radiator support cushions from the radiator assembly.



21. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT LOWER


    Camry. Acv40 Gsv40.2Gr-Fe Cooling.Cooling System.Radiator  Removal
  1. Remove the 2 radiator support lowers from the radiator assembly.
