- NOTICE:
- When the diagnosis system is changed from normal mode to check mode or vice versa, all DTCs and freeze frame data that were recorded in normal mode are erased. Before changing modes, always check and make a note of any DTCs and freeze frame data.
- HINT:
- DTCs which are stored in the ECM can be displayed on the intelligent tester. The intelligent tester can display both current and pending DTCs.
- Malfunctions that were not detected a second time by the ECM during the second driving cycle are stored as pending DTCs.
| CHECK FOR DTC (Using intelligent tester) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the tester on.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Check the DTC(s) and freeze frame data, and then write them down.
Check the details of the DTC(s) (CAMRY_ACV40 RM000000PDF00WX.html).

| CLEAR DTC (Using intelligent tester) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to the ON position and turn the tester on.
Select the following menu items: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC / Clear.
Press the YES button.

Perform either of the following operations:
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal for more than 1 minute.
Remove the EFI No. 1 and ETCS fuses from the engine room R/B (located inside the engine compartment) for more than 1 minute.
