ENTRY AND START SYSTEM - Back Door Entry Lock Function does not Operate


DESCRIPTION

When the sensor built into the back door outside handle is turned on, a touch sensor ON signal is transmitted to the certification ECU, and a request signal is then transmitted to both the indoor electrical key oscillator and door electrical key oscillator by the certification ECU. Upon receipt of the request signal, the electrical key transmitter transmits an ID code to the certification ECU. When the certification ECU recognizes that the key is not in the cabin and is outside the vehicle, a door lock signal is transmitted to the main body ECU, causing all the doors to be locked.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

  1. By following the tester screen display, check whether any DTCs are output.

    OK:
    No DTC output.

Go to DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART

2.CHECK MANUAL DOOR UNLOCK OPERATION

  1. Check that all the doors unlock when the door control switch (for manual operation) is turned to UNLOCK.

    OK:
    All doors can be unlocked with door control switch.

Go to POWER DOOR LOCK CONTROL SYSTEM
OK


3.CHECK WIRELESS DOOR LOCK CONTROL OPERATION

  1. Check that the wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001VRW002X.html).

    OK:
    Wireless door lock and unlock functions operate normally.

4.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (LOCK SWITCH)

  1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the door lock switch.

    Certification ECU:
    Item

    Tr/B-Door Lock SW
    		Back door lock switch / ON or OFF
    		ON: Back door lock switch pushed
    OFF: Back door lock switch is not pushed

    On tester screen, item changes between ON and OFF according to above chart.

5.CHECK ECU AGGREGATION BOX (OPERATION)

  1. Temporarily replace the ECU aggregation box (certification ECU) with a new or normally functioning one.

  1. Check that the entry lock and unlock functions operate normally (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001VGF003X.html).

    OK:
    Entry lock and unlock functions operate normally.

6.INSPECT BACK DOOR OUTSIDE HANDLE

  1. Disconnect the back door outside handle connector.

  1. Measure the resistance between the terminal when the lock switch is operated.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester C0nnection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    1 - 3
    		Switch released
    		10 kΩ or higher
    Switch pressed in
    		Below 1 Ω
