DTC B1242 Wireless Door Lock Tuner Circuit Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

The door control receiver receives signals from the transmitter and sends these signals to the main body ECU. This DTC is output when the applicable RDA signal cannot be received within 1 second of PRG signal being output from the main body ECU.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (MAIN BODY ECU - DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER)

  1. Disconnect the E20 ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the L10 receiver connector.

  1. Measure the resistance of the wire harness side connectors.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    E20-5 (RDA) - L10-2 (RDA)
    		Below 1 Ω
    E20-6 (PRG) - L10-3 (PRG)
    E20-5 (RDA) or L10-2 (RDA) - Body ground
    		10 kΩ or higher
    E20-6 (PRG) or L10-3 (PRG) - Body ground

2.CHECK WIRE HARNESS (DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER - BATTERY AND BODY GROUND)

  1. Disconnect the L10 receiver connector.

  1. Measure the resistance and voltage of the wire harness side connector.

    Standard resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    L10-1 (GND) - Body ground
    		Below 1 Ω
    Standard voltage:
    Tester Connection
    		Specified Condition
    L10-5 (+B) - Body ground
    		10 to 14 V

3.REPLACE DOOR CONTROL RECEIVER

  1. Temporarily replace the door control receiver with a new or normally functioning one (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001XXF003X.html, RAV4_ACA30 RM0000020MG00AX.html).

  1. Perform the REGISTRATION procedures.

4.CHECK FOR DTC

  1. Clear the DTC (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001VSC001X.html).

  1. Recheck for DTC.

    OK:
    DTC B1242 is not output.
