Power Door Lock Control System -- System Description



POWER DOOR LOCK SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. The power door lock system locks / unlocks all doors with a one-touch operation.

    1. The door control switch of the power window regulator master switch sends lock / unlock request signals to the main body ECU. Then, the main body ECU sends these requests to the lock motors in each door to lock / unlock all the doors simultaneously.
    2. Operating the driver side door lock using a key sends lock / unlock request signals to the main body ECU.

  1. Placed on each door.
  2. Detects door status (open or closed) and outputs data to main body ECU.
  3. Turns on when door is open and off when door is closed.
Driver door lock
  1. Built-in motor locks / unlocks door.
  2. Built-in door control switch (key-linked) detects door key operation's door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU.
  3. Built-in position switch detects door status (locked or unlocked) and outputs data to main body ECU. This switch turns off when door is locked and on when door is unlocked.

FUNCTIONS
This system is controlled by the main body ECU. The main body ECU outputs signals to each door lock motor. The door lock control system in the vehicle has the following functions:

Outlines
Key-linked lock and unlock function
Linked with key cylinder. Locks / unlocks all doors when lock / unlock operation is possible.
Key lock-in prevention function
When key is inserted in ignition key cylinder and door lock operation is performed, all doors are unlocked.
Manual unlock prohibition function
Performing door lock operation with transmitter or key disables unlock operation by door control switch.

DOUBLE LOCKING SYSTEM DESCRIPTION

  1. The double locking system prevents the doors from being unlocked from inside the vehicle.

    1. Each side door has a motor for the double locking system in addition to the door lock motor. The back door does not have the double locking system.

    2. Close all doors including the back door and press the LOCK switch on the transmitter twice within 5 seconds. The double locking system is set to ON.

    3. The transmitter switch sends a request signal to the main body ECU via the wireless receiver and the main body ECU transmits the signal to the double lock ECU. In response to this request, the double lock ECU activates the double locking system motor to disengage the lever, thus preventing the doors from being unlocked using the door lock knobs inside the vehicle.

    4. Press the UNLOCK switch on the transmitter once. The double locking system is set to OFF and the doors are unlocked.

      NOTICE:
      Make sure that no one is inside the vehicle when you set the double locking system to ON, because the doors cannot be unlocked from inside the cabin while the system is ON.
