  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Short Body)

  3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Long Body)

  4. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

  5. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM POCKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

  6. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR NO. 1 BOARD

  8. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY

  9. REMOVE REAR FLOOR NO. 2 BOARD

  10. REMOVE REAR FLOOR NO. 3 BOARD

  11. REMOVE JACK CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for Short Body)

  12. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR MAT SUPPORT SIDE PLATE (for Short Body)

  13. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR MAT SUPPORT SIDE PLATE (for Long Body)

  14. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP

  15. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (for Short Body)

  16. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (for Long Body)

  17. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL LH

  18. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR COVER (for Short Body)

  19. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR BRACKET (for Short Body)

  20. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH

  21. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for Short Body)

  22. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for Long Body)

  23. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (for Short Body)

  24. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (for Long Body)

  25. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER LH

Rear Seat Outer Belt Assembly -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
  2. The procedures listed below are for the LH side.


1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Short Body)


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 8 claws and remove the scuff plate.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.


3. REMOVE REAR DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH (for Long Body)

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 9 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 2 clips and remove the garnish.



4. REMOVE REAR DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH


5. REMOVE PACKAGE TRAY TRIM POCKET SUB-ASSEMBLY


6. REMOVE TONNEAU COVER ASSEMBLY


7. REMOVE REAR FLOOR NO. 1 BOARD


8. REMOVE DECK BOARD ASSEMBLY


9. REMOVE REAR FLOOR NO. 2 BOARD


10. REMOVE REAR FLOOR NO. 3 BOARD


11. REMOVE JACK CARRIER ASSEMBLY (for Short Body)

  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 7 clips and remove the jack carrier.



12. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR MAT SUPPORT SIDE PLATE (for Short Body)

  1. Remove the 4 screws.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 7 clips and remove the plate.



13. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 FLOOR MAT SUPPORT SIDE PLATE (for Long Body)

  1. Remove the 4 screws.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 7 clips and remove the plate.



14. REMOVE BACK DOOR WEATHERSTRIP


15. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (for Short Body)

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clips and remove the finish plate.



16. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE (for Long Body)

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 6 clips.

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the finish plate.



17. REMOVE RECLINING REMOTE CONTROL LEVER BEZEL LH


18. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR COVER (for Short Body)


19. REMOVE CHILD RESTRAINT SEAT TETHER ANCHOR BRACKET (for Short Body)


20. DISCONNECT REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER RH


Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Remove the lap belt outer anchor cover.

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.



21. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for Short Body)

  1. Disconnect the rear No. 1 seat belt's floor anchor.

    1. Remove the anchor cover.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

  1. Remove the bolt and 2 screws.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 5 clips and remove the trim board.

  1. Disconnect the power outlet socket connector.

  1. Remove the belt hanger.



22. REMOVE DECK TRIM SIDE PANEL ASSEMBLY LH (for Long Body)


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Disconnect the rear No.1 seat outer belt's floor anchor.

    1. Remove the anchor cover.

    2. Remove the bolt and disconnect the floor anchor.

  1. Remove the 2 screws and 2 bolts.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 5 claws.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 4 clips and remove the trim board.

  1. Disconnect the power outlet socket connector.

  1. Remove the belt hanger.



23. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (for Short Body)

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 7 clips and remove the garnish.



24. REMOVE INNER ROOF SIDE GARNISH ASSEMBLY LH (for Long Body)

  1. Using a clip remover, detach the 7 clips and remove the garnish.



25. REMOVE REAR NO. 1 SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY OUTER LH

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the seat belt's shoulder anchor.



    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and seat belt.
