Compressor And Pulley (For 2Az-Fe) Removal

  1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE

  4. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (w/ Bracket)

  5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (w/o Bracket)

  6. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT

  7. REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

Compressor And Pulley (For 2Az-Fe) -- Removal



1. RECOVER REFRIGERANT FROM REFRIGERATION SYSTEM

  1. Start the engine.

  1. Turn the A/C switch on.

  1. Operate the cooler compressor while the engine speed is approximately 1000 rpm for 5 to 6 minutes to circulate the refrigerant and collect the compressor oil remaining in each component into the cooler compressor.

  1. Stop the engine.

  1. Recover the refrigerant from the A/C system using a refrigerant recovery unit.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


3. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT SUCTION HOSE

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant suction hose from the cooler compressor.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant suction hose.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.


4. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (w/ Bracket)

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler compressor.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.


5. DISCONNECT NO. 1 COOLER REFRIGERANT DISCHARGE HOSE (w/o Bracket)

  1. Remove the bolt and disconnect the cooler refrigerant discharge hose from the cooler compressor.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the cooler refrigerant discharge hose.

    NOTICE:
    Seal the openings of the disconnected parts using vinyl tape to prevent moisture and foreign matter from entering them.


6. REMOVE FAN & GENERATOR V BELT

  1. Using SST and 19 mm socket wrench, loosen the V-ribbed belt tensioner arm clockwise, then remove the fan and generator V belt.

    NOTICE:
    1. Be sure to connect SST and the tools so that they are in line during use.
    2. When retracting the tensioner, turn it clockwise slowly for 3 seconds or more. Do not apply force rapidly.
    3. After the tensioner is fully retracted, do not apply force any more than necessary.


7. REMOVE COOLER COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. w/o Stud Bolt:
    Remove the 4 bolts and cooler compressor.

  1. w/ Stud Bolt:
    Remove the 3 bolts, nut and cooler compressor.
