Transfer Assembly -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
| 2. DRAIN TRANSFER OIL |
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain the oil.
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
- Torque:
- 39 N*m{398 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf}
| 3. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE |
for 1AZ-FE:
Remove the engine assembly with transaxle (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001BC300NX.html).
for 2AZ-FE:
Remove the engine assembly with transaxle (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001BC300OX.html).
for 2GR-FE:
Remove the engine assembly with transaxle (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000019Y9015X_01_0039.html).
for 3ZR-FAE:
Remove the engine assembly with transaxle (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PXM003X_01_0044.html).
| 4. REMOVE REAR ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET |

Remove the rear engine mounting bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001SUM00XX_01_0007.html).
for E352F/E359F:
Remove the rear engine mounting bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001YVO00AX_01_0020.html).
for U151F:
Remove the rear engine mounting bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001SUM00YX_01_0008.html).
for EB61F:
Remove the rear engine mounting bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001B3W02WX_01_0135.html).
for K111F:
Remove the rear engine mounting bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM00000192D01ZX_01_0147.html).

Remove the 6 nuts, 2 bolts and transfer from the transaxle.
