Transaxle Oil Pan Removal

  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

  3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE

  5. REMOVE TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

Transaxle Oil Pan -- Removal



1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35
  1. Remove the 6 screws, 10 clips and under cover.



2. REMOVE REAR ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

  1. Remove the 2 clips and under cover.



3. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER REINFORCEMENT LH

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and reinforcement.



4. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION OIL FILLER TUBE

  1. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the overflow plug and gasket from the continuously variable transaxle assembly.

  1. Using a 6 mm socket hexagon wrench, remove the No. 1 transmission oil filler tube from the oil pan and drain the continuously variable transaxle fluid.

5. REMOVE TRANSAXLE OIL PAN SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 19 bolts and oil pan from the transaxle.

    NOTICE:
    Some fluid will remain in the oil pan. To prevent the fluid from spilling, place a container under the oil pan, and then carefully remove all the pan bolts and oil pan assembly.
  1. Remove the gasket from the oil pan.

  1. Remove the 3 magnets from the oil pan.

    NOTICE:
    1. Clean the oil pan and remove any metal particles, sludge, etc.
    2. Clean off any metal particles that adhere to the magnets.
