DTC P0841 Transmission Fluid Pressure Sensor/Switch "A" Circuit Range/Performance |
DTC P2829 Pressure Control Solenoid "K" Performance (Shift Solenoid Valve SLS) |
DESCRIPTION
The ECM controls the secondary oil pressure calibration based on the secondary oil pressure signal detected by the oil pressure sensor.DTC Code
| DTC Detection Condition
- Diagnosis Condition
- Malfunction Status
- Malfunction Time
- Other
| Trouble Area
|
P0841
| - The requested oil pressure value is 0.5 MPa or less.
- The oil pressure sensor output value is 3.0 MPa or higher.
- 3 seconds
- 2 trip detection logic
| - Oil pressure sensor
- Continuously variable transaxle assembly
- ECM
|
P2829
| - The requested oil pressure value is 0.5 MPa or less.
- The oil pressure sensor output value is 3.0 MPa or higher.
- 3 seconds
- 2 trip detection logic
|
- The vehicle is driven at a speed of 8 km/h (5 mph) or less with the shift lever in D.
- The ratio of the rotation speeds of the primary pulley (NIN) and secondary pulley (NOUT) exceeds the threshold.
- 0.2 seconds
- 2 trip detection logic
|
MONITOR DESCRIPTION
The ECM checks for belt clamping high-pressure or low-pressure errors. When a mechanical malfunction is detected at shift solenoid valve SLS and at the oil pressure sensor, the ECM detects the problem, illuminates the MIL and stores the DTC.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
- *1: w/ VSC
- *2: w/o VSC
1.CHECK DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P0841 AND P2829) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the intelligent tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs using the tester.

|
Only P0841 and/or P2829 is output
| A
|
P0841 and/or P2829 and other DTCs are output
| B
|
- HINT:
- If any other DTCs besides P0841 or P2829 are output, perform troubleshooting for those DTCs first.
2.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (A/T OIL PRESSURE) |
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the intelligent tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List.
In accordance with the display on the tester, read the Data List.

3.REPLACE OIL PRESSURE SENSOR |
Replace the oil pressure sensor (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000020TV00QX.html).
Clear the DTCs (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000W770KGX.html).
- NOTICE:
- Performing reset memory will clear the learned values of both the yaw rate sensor assembly*1 or deceleration sensor*2 (deceleration sensor 0 point calibration) and CVT oil pressure (CVT oil pressure calibration). Make sure to perform reset memory, yaw rate sensor assembly*1 or deceleration sensor*2 0 point calibration and CVT oil pressure calibration when replacing any of the parts shown in the following table:
Replaced Part
|
- Continuously variable transaxle assembly
- ECM
- Oil pressure sensor
- Yaw rate sensor assembly (w/ VSC)
- Deceleration sensor (w/o VSC)
- Brake actuator assembly (skid control ECU)
|
- After performing reset memory, always perform yaw rate sensor assembly*1 or deceleration sensor*2 (deceleration sensor 0 point) calibration first, and then CVT oil pressure calibration.
- Always perform 0 point calibration with the vehicle on level ground.
- Do not shake or vibrate the vehicle during 0 point calibration.
Using the intelligent tester, perform reset memory, deceleration sensor 0 point calibration and CVT oil pressure calibration (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003UQR00VX.html).
Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Turn the intelligent tester on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.
Read the DTCs using the tester.

Replace the ECM (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000017UO01KX.html).
