  1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  2. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  3. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  4. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK

  5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

Manual Transaxle Oil -- Replacement



1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. Remove the 6 screws, 10 clips and under cover.



2. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  1. Remove the filler plug and gasket.

    		Filler Plug
    *2
    		Drain Plug

  1. Remove the drain plug and gasket to drain the manual transaxle oil.

  1. Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

    Torque:
    39 N*m{400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf}


3. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL

  1. Add oil until the oil level is within 5 mm (0.197 in.) from the bottom of the transmission filler plug opening.

  1. Install a new gasket and the transmission filler plug.

    Torque:
    39 N*m{400 kgf*cm, 29 ft.*lbf}
    NOTICE:
    1. When adding transaxle oil, make sure the vehicle is level.
    2. An excessively large or small amount of oil may cause problems.
    3. After adding oil, drive the vehicle and recheck the oil level.


4. INSPECT FOR OIL LEAK


5. INSTALL NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER

  1. Install the under cover with the 6 screws and 10 clips.
