Park / Neutral Position Switch Removal

Transmission. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35
U151F Automatic Transaxle. Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35

  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE BATTERY

  4. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET

  5. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

  6. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Park / Neutral Position Switch -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.


2. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.

  1. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

  1. Detach the hook of the battery clamp from the front battery bracket, and then remove the battery clamp.



3. REMOVE BATTERY


4. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET

  1. Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and front bracket.



5. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and bracket reinforcement.



6. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the switch connector from the park/neutral position switch assembly.

  1. Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.

  1. Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever.

  1. Using a screwdriver, pry out the lock plate.

  1. Remove the nut and lock plate.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and pull out the park/neutral position switch assembly.
