Park / Neutral Position Switch Removal
DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY
REMOVE BATTERY
REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET
REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT
REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY
Park / Neutral Position Switch -- Removal |
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
2. REMOVE BATTERY CLAMP SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the bolt and loosen the nut.
Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.
Detach the hook of the battery clamp from the front battery bracket, and then remove the battery clamp.
4. REMOVE FRONT BATTERY BRACKET |
Detach the 2 wire harness clamps.
Remove the 4 bolts and front bracket.
5. REMOVE BATTERY BRACKET REINFORCEMENT |
Remove the 2 bolts and bracket reinforcement.
6. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the switch connector from the park/neutral position switch assembly.
Remove the nut and disconnect the control cable from the control shaft lever.
Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever.
Using a screwdriver, pry out the lock plate.
Remove the nut and lock plate.
Remove the 2 bolts and pull out the park/neutral position switch assembly.
