Engine Switch (W/ Entry And Start System) -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
| 2. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER |
Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and then remove the cluster finish panel.

Disconnect the connector.
| 3. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL CENTER |
Using a moulding remover, detach the 3 clips and 2 claws, and then remove the cluster finish panel.

Disconnect the connector.
| 4. REMOVE RADIO RECEIVER (w/ Radio Receiver) |
for 3ZR-FAE:
Remove the radio receiver assembly with bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000014UM00DX_01_0017.html).
except 3ZR-FAE
Remove the radio receiver assembly with bracket (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000014UM00DX_01_0004.html).
| 5. REMOVE STEREO OPENING COVER (w/o Radio Receiver) |

Remove the 4 bolts.
Detach the 4 clips and remove the stereo opening cover.
| 6. REMOVE HEATER CONTROL ASSEMBLY |
Remove the 2 screws.
 |
Using a screwdriver, detach the 3 clips.
- HINT:
- Tape the screwdriver tip before use.
Connect the connectors and remove the heater control assembly.
| 7. REMOVE ENGINE SWITCH |
Disconnect the switch connector.
 |
Detach the 2 claws and remove the switch.
