CHECK SWITCH CONDITION (ENGINE SWITCH)

INSPECT IG2 RELAY

CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG2 RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

DTC B2273 Ignition 2 Monitor Malfunction


DESCRIPTION

This DTC is stored when a malfunction occurs in the IG output circuit, which is between the IG2 relay actuation circuit inside the main body ECU and the IG2 relay.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (IG2 RELAY MONITOR [INSIDE])

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the engine switch on (IG) and turn the intelligent tester on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Body / Main Body / Data List.

  1. Read the display on the intelligent tester.

    IG2 Relay Monitor(Inside)
    		IG2 inner relay monitor/ON or OFF
    		ON: Engine switch on (IG)
    OFF: Engine switch off

    OK:
    When the engine switch is turned on (IG), ON is displayed on the intelligent tester.

Go to step 3
OK


2.CHECK SWITCH CONDITION (ENGINE SWITCH)

  1. Make sure that the electrical key is inside the cabin.

  1. With the shift lever in P (except M/T), check that the power source mode changes as shown below each time the engine switch is pushed.

    OK:
    off → on (ACC) → on (IG) → off

3.INSPECT IG2 RELAY

  1. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room No. 1 relay block.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    3 - 5
    		Battery voltage is applied to terminals 1 and 2
    		Below 1 Ω
    3 - 5
    		Battery voltage is not applied to terminals 1 and 2
    		10 kΩ or higher


NG
REPLACE IG2 RELAY
OK


4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (IG2 RELAY - MAIN BODY ECU AND BODY GROUND)

  1. Remove the IG2 relay from the engine room No. 1 relay block.

  1. Disconnect the E19 main body ECU connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    Relay block IG2 relay terminal 1 - E19-5 (IG2D)
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    Relay block IG2 relay terminal 2 - Body ground
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    Relay block IG2 relay terminal 1 or E19-5 (IG2D) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher

REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

REPLACE MAIN BODY ECU (INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK)
