  1. PRECAUTION

  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH

  4. REMOVE NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP

  5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  8. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (for Radio and Display Type)

  9. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

Instrument Panel Speaker -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. PRECAUTION
NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).


3. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP PLUG LH

HINT:
Use the same procedure for the other front No. 1 assist grip plug.
  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 claws and remove the front No. 1 assist grip plug.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

4. REMOVE NO. 1 ASSIST GRIP

HINT:
Use the same procedure for the other No. 1 assist grip.
  1. Remove the 2 bolts.

  1. Detach the 2 claws and remove the No. 1 assist grip.



5. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH

  1. Detach the 3 guides and remove the front pillar garnish.

  1. w/ Curtain Shield Airbag:
    Protect the curtain shield airbag assembly.

    1. Completely cover the airbag with a cloth or nylon sheet and secure the ends of the cover with adhesive tape as shown in the illustration.

      NOTICE:
      Cover the curtain shield airbag with a protective cover as soon as the front pillar garnish is removed.

6. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL SPEAKER PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Put protective tape around the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel.

  1. Using a screwdriver, detach the 2 clips, claw, and 2 guides and remove the No. 1 instrument panel speaker panel.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

7. REMOVE FRONT NO. 2 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the front No. 2 speaker assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Do not touch the cone of the speaker.


8. REMOVE RADIO AND DISPLAY RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (for Radio and Display Type)

9. REMOVE UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

  1. Detach the 8 clips and 2 guides and remove the upper instrument cluster finish panel.



10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 4 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY


    Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado. Grj150 Trj150,155 Kdj150,155 Lj150, Gdj150,155
  1. Remove the 2 screws.

  1. Disconnect the connector and remove the front No. 4 speaker assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Do not touch the cone of the speaker.
