Vane Pump (For 5L-E) -- Reassembly |
- NOTICE:
- When installing parts, coat the parts indicated by arrows with power steering fluid (LandCruiser RM000000WNZ00DX.html).
1. INSTALL VANE PUMP HOUSING OIL SEAL |
Coat the lip of a new vane pump housing oil seal with MP grease.
Using SST and a press, press in the vane pump housing oil seal to the vane pump front housing.

- 09950-60010(09951-00320)
09950-70010(09951-07100)
- NOTICE:
- Make sure that the vane pump housing oil seal is installed so that it is facing in the correct direction as shown in the illustration.

2. INSTALL VANE PUMP SHAFT |
Coat the inside surface of the bush in the vane pump front housing with power steering fluid.

Gradually insert the vane pump shaft from the pulley side.
3. INSTALL VANE PUMP ROTOR |
Install the vane pump rotor.
- HINT:
- The vane pump rotor can be installed with either side facing up.

Using a snap ring expander, install a new vane pump shaft snap ring to the vane pump shaft.
Coat all 10 vane pump plates with power steering fluid.
Install each vane pump plate with the round end facing outward.

4. INSTALL VANE PUMP CAM RING |
Align the holes of the vane pump cam ring with the 2 straight pins and install the vane pump cam ring with the inscribed mark facing upward.

- Make sure that the cam ring is installed so that it is facing in the correct direction.

5. INSTALL VANE PUMP REAR SIDE PLATE |
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the vane pump rear side plate.

Align the groove of the vane pump rear side plate with that of the vane pump rear side plate, and install the cam ring.
Install the wave washer so that its protrusions fit into the slots in the vane pump rear side plate.

6. INSTALL VANE PUMP REAR HOUSING |
Install a new gasket.
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the vane pump rear housing.
Install the vane pump rear housing with the 4 bolts.
- Torque:
- 24 N*m{245 kgf*cm, 18 ft.*lbf}
7. INSPECT TOTAL PRELOAD |
Check that the pump rotates smoothly without abnormal noise.

Temporarily install the vane pump pulley set nut to the vane pump shaft.
Using a torque wrench, measure the rotating torque.
- Standard rotating torque:
- 0.3 N*m (3 kgf*cm, 2 in.*lbf) or less
8. INSTALL FLOW CONTROL VALVE |
Coat the compression spring and flow control valve with power steering fluid.
Install the compression spring and flow control valve.
Coat the O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the pressure port union.
Install the pressure port union to the vane pump front housing.
- Torque:
- 83 N*m{846 kgf*cm, 61 ft.*lbf}
9. INSTALL SUCTION PORT UNION |
Coat a new O-ring with power steering fluid and install it to the suction port union.
Install the suction port union to the vane pump front housing with the bolt.
- Torque:
- 13 N*m{133 kgf*cm, 10 ft.*lbf}
