Brake Pedal (For Hydraulic Brake Booster) -- Removal |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure for RHD and LHD vehicles.
- The procedure listed below is for LHD vehicles.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
- NOTICE:
- After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work (LandCruiser RM000003YMD00TX.html).
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (LandCruiser RM000003YMF011X.html).
2. REMOVE LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY |
Remove the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly (LandCruiser RM000003YPV037X.html).
3. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL RETURN SPRING |
4. REMOVE PUSH ROD PIN |
Remove the clip and push rod pin from the brake pedal lever.
5. REMOVE STOP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY |
Disconnect the stop light switch connector.
Remove the stop light switch (LandCruiser RM000003QJT01GX_01_0003.html).
6. REMOVE BRAKE PEDAL SUPPORT ASSEMBLY |
Remove the brake pedal support reinforcement set bolt.

Remove the hydraulic brake booster assembly (LandCruiser RM00000171T034X_02_0030.html).
Remove the 4 nut and brake pedal support assembly.
