Front Shock Absorber Removal


  1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL

  2. REMOVE LOWER FRONT BUMPER COVER

  3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  5. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER END BRACKET (w/ KDSS)

  6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (w/ KDSS)

  7. DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH (w/o KDSS)

  8. DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH (w/o KDSS)

  9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH (w/o KDSS)

  10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH (w/o KDSS)

  11. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (w/o KDSS)

  12. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (w/ Air Suspension)

  13. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (w/o Air Suspension)

Front Shock Absorber -- Removal


HINT:
  1. Use the same procedure for the RH and LH sides.
  2. The procedure listed below is for the LH side.


1. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL


2. REMOVE LOWER FRONT BUMPER COVER

  1. Remove the clip, 5 bolts and front bumper lower cover.



3. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and No. 1 engine under cover.



4. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION MEMBER BRACE SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the 6 bolts and 2 member braces from the front frame assembly.



5. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER END BRACKET (w/ KDSS)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts and 2 brackets from the lower arm.



6. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (w/ KDSS)

  1. Remove the 4 bolts, 2 front stabilizer lower brackets and front stabilizer bar.

  1. Remove the 2 front stabilizer link bushes and front stabilizer lower bracket bushes from the stabilizer bar front.



7. DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY LH (w/o KDSS)

  1. Remove the nut and disconnect the stabilizer link from the steering knuckle.

    HINT:
    If the ball joint turns together with the nut, use a 6 mm hexagon wrench to hold the stud.


8. DISCONNECT FRONT STABILIZER LINK ASSEMBLY RH (w/o KDSS)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


9. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET LH (w/o KDSS)

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and front No. 1 stabilizer bracket LH.



10. REMOVE FRONT NO. 1 STABILIZER BRACKET RH (w/o KDSS)
HINT:
Use the same procedure described for the LH side.


11. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER BAR (w/o KDSS)


12. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (w/ Air Suspension)

  1. Detach the 3 clamps and disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a 4 mm hexagon wrench, remove the 2 bolts and absorber control actuator.

  1. Using SST, remove the nut and bracket.

  1. Remove the bolt, nut and washer.

  1. Remove the 3 nuts on the top of the front shock absorber with coil spring.

  1. Remove the front shock absorber with coil spring.



13. REMOVE FRONT SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING (w/o Air Suspension)

  1. Remove the bolt, nut and washer.

  1. Remove the 3 nuts on the top of the front shock absorber with coil spring.

  1. Remove the front shock absorber with coil spring.
