1. INSPECT FAN AND GENERATOR V BELT


    Land Cruiser, Land Cruiser Prado. Grj150 Trj150,155 Kdj150,155 Lj150, Gdj150,155

  1. Check the belt for wear, cracks or other signs of damage.
    If any of the following defects is found, replace the fan and generator V belt.

    1. The fan and generator V belt is cracked.
    2. The fan and generator V belt is worn out to the extent that the cords are exposed.
    3. The fan and generator V belt has chunks missing from the ribs.

  1. Check that the fan and generator V belt fits properly in the ribbed grooves.

    HINT:
    Check with your hand to confirm that the fan and generator V belt has not slipped out of the grooves on the bottom of the pulley. If it has slipped out, replace the fan and generator V belt. Install a new fan and generator V belt correctly.

2. INSPECT V-RIBBED BELT TENSIONER ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the fan and generator V belt. (LandCruiser RM00000122Y00LX.html)

  1. Check that nothing gets caught in the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly by turning it clockwise and counterclockwise.
    If a malfunction exists, replace the V-ribbed belt tensioner assembly.

  1. Turn the pulley, and check that the tensioner bearing moves smoothly and quietly.
    If necessary, replace the tensioner pulley.

3. INSPECT VISCOUS HEATER V BELT

  1. Check the belt for wear, cracks or other signs of damage.

    1. The viscous heater V belt is cracked.
    2. The viscous heater V belt is worn out to the extent that the cords are exposed.
    3. The viscous heater V belt has chunks missing from the ribs.

  1. Check that the viscous heater V belt fits properly in the ribbed grooves.

    HINT:
    Check with your hand to confirm that the viscous heater V belt has not slipped out of the grooves on the bottom of the pulley. If it has slipped out, replace the viscous heater V belt. Install a viscous heater V belt correctly.

  1. Using a belt tension gauge, check the viscous heater V belt tension.

    Standard Compressor Tension:

    		382 to 618 N (39 to 63 kgf, 85.9 to 138.9 lbf)
    Used belt
    		282 to 478 N (29 to 49 kgf, 63.4 to 107.5 lbf)
    HINT:
    When inspecting a viscous heater V belt which has been used for over 5 minutes, use the used viscous heater V belt specifications.
    If the belt tension is not specified, adjust the viscous heater V belt.
