Parking Brake Lever -- Removal |
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- CAUTION:
- Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to prevent airbag and seat belt pretensioner activation.
- NOTICE:
- When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000002HD2006X.html).
2. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY |
Remove the console box assembly (Toyota Fortuner RM000000SQH00QX.html).
3. REMOVE PARKING BRAKE LEVER SUB-ASSEMBLY |

Remove the lock nut and wire adjusting nut labeled A.
Remove the 2 bolts labeled B and lever (with the No. 1 parking brake cable).
Bend the claw labeled C so that the cable can be removed.
Remove the 2 bolts and 2 nuts labeled D.
Disconnect the cable from the lever.
Disconnect the parking brake switch connector.
Remove the screw and switch from the lever.
