Brake Actuator (For Rhd With Vsc) Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

  3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

Brake Actuator (For Rhd With Vsc) -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


2. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID
NOTICE:
Wash off brake fluid immediately if it comes in contact with any painted surface.


3. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Use tags or make a note to identify the reconnection locations.

    HINT:
    1. *1: to front wheel cylinder RH
    2. *2: to front wheel cylinder LH
    3. *3: to rear wheel cylinder RH
    4. *4: to rear wheel cylinder LH
    5. *5: from master cylinder

  1. Release the latch of the actuator connector and disconnect the connector.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.
  1. Using a union nut wrench, disconnect the 6 brake lines from the actuator.

  1. Detach the brake line from the tube clamp.



  1. Remove the 3 nuts and actuator with bracket.

    NOTICE:

    Be careful not to damage the brake tubes.
