Dtc C1420 Acceleration Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION

DTC C1420 Acceleration Sensor Malfunction

DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU (brake actuator assembly) receives signals from the yaw rate sensor assembly via the CAN communication system.
The yaw rate sensor assembly has a built-in acceleration sensor and detects the vehicle's condition using 2 circuits (GL1, GL2).
If there is trouble in the bus lines between the yaw rate sensor assembly and the CAN communication system, DTCs U0123 (Lost Communication with Yaw Rate Sensor Module) and U0124 (Lost Communication with Lateral Acceleration Sensor Module) are stored.
DTC C1420 is also stored when calibration is not completed.

DTC Code
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
C1420
After the difference between GL1 and GL2 becomes 0.6 G or more with the vehicle stationary, the difference remains 0.4 G or more for 60 seconds or more.
  1. Sensor installation
  2. Acceleration sensor (Yaw rate sensor assembly)

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
After replacing the yaw rate sensor assembly, perform calibration (Toyota Fortuner RM000000XHR06WX.html).
HINT:
When DTC U0123 and/or U0124 is output together with DTC C1420, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by DTC U0123 and/or U0124 first (Toyota Fortuner RM000000YUO0DYX.html).
1.CHECK YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY INSTALLATION
  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Check that the yaw rate sensor assembly is installed properly (Toyota Fortuner RM000000SS204FX.html).

    OK:
The sensor is tightened to the specified torque.
The sensor is not installed at an angle.

NG
INSTALL YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY CORRECTLY (Toyota Fortuner RM000000SS204FX.html)
OK

REPLACE YAW RATE SENSOR ASSEMBLY (Toyota Fortuner RM000000SS5045X.html)
