Vehicle Stability Control System Dtc Check / Clear

Check for DTCs.

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   

4. Turn the intelligent tester on.
   

5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / DTC.
   

6. Check the details of the DTCs.
   

   HINT:

   Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

Clear the DTCs.

NOTICE:

Clearing the DTC also clears the freeze frame data.

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
   

2. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.
   

3. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   

4. Turn the intelligent tester on.
   

5. Enter the following menus: Chassis / ABS/VSC/TRC / DTC.
   

6. Clear the DTCs by following the prompts on the intelligent tester.
   

   HINT:

   Refer to the intelligent tester operator's manual for further details.

Check for DTCs.

1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   

3. Read the DTCs output from the ABS warning light and VSC OFF indicator light in the combination meter.
   

   HINT:

   1. When the system is normal, the ABS warning light and VSC OFF indicator light blink at 0.25 second intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off).
      
   2. When only 1 DTC is output, the light outputs the same code after an interval of 4 seconds. Example: when DTC 21 is output, the light blinks twice, turns off for 1.5 seconds, blinks once, turns off for 4 seconds, and then repeats this output pattern.
      
   3. When 2 or more DTCs are output, the light outputs the codes with an interval of 2.5 seconds between each different code, and it repeats the output of all codes after an interval of 4 seconds.

   1. *: This DTC is stored when the VSC system detects a malfunction in the ABS.
      

5. Disconnect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.
   

   HINT:

   If 2 or more DTCs are output at the same time, the DTCs are output in ascending order.

Clear the DTCs.

1. Using SST, connect terminals 13 (TC) and 4 (CG) of the DLC3.

2. Turn the ignition switch to ON.
   

3. Clear the DTCs stored in the ECU by depressing the brake pedal 8 times or more within 5 seconds.
   

4. Check that the ABS warning light and VSC OFF indicator light blink at 0.25 second intervals (0.25 seconds on and 0.25 seconds off).
   

5. Remove SST from the terminals of the DLC3.
   

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

Check that the ABS warning light and VSC OFF indicator light go off within approximately 3 seconds after turning the ignition switch to ON.
