Front Upper Suspension Arm -- Installation |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedures for the RH side and LH side.
- The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
| 1. TEMPORARILY INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY LH |

Temporarily install the upper arm with the bolt, 2 retainers and nut.
- HINT:
- Fix the nut in place and temporarily install the bolt.
Install the upper arm to the steering knuckle with the nut.
- Torque:
- 110 N*m{1,122 kgf*cm, 81 ft.*lbf}
Install a new clip.
| 2. CONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (w/ ABS) |
Connect the skid control sensor wire (Toyota Fortuner RM0000010JM029X.html).
| 3. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL |
- Torque:
- 105 N*m{1,071 kgf*cm, 77 ft.*lbf}
| 4. STABILIZE SUSPENSION |
Lower the vehicle.
Press down on the vehicle several times to stabilize the suspension.
| 5. TIGHTEN FRONT SUSPENSION UPPER ARM ASSEMBLY |
Tighten the upper arm's bolt.
- Torque:
- 115 N*m{1,173 kgf*cm, 85 ft.*lbf}
- NOTICE:
- Do not tighten the nut.
| 6. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT |
- HINT:
- Refer to "SUSPENSION - FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT - ADJUSTMENT" applicable to this vehicle model and perform the inspection and adjustment.
