Sun Gear And One-Way Clutch Disassembly
INSPECT ONE-WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
REMOVE ONE-WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY
REMOVE NO. 1 ONE-WAY CLUTCH THRUST WASHER
REMOVE SUN GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL RING
REMOVE SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM
REMOVE SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM SHAFT SNAP RING
INSPECT PLANETARY SUN GEAR
Sun Gear And One-Way Clutch -- Disassembly |
1. INSPECT ONE-WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY |
Hold the planetary sun gear, and turn the one-way clutch assembly. Check that the one-way clutch hub can be turned freely clockwise and locks when turned counterclockwise.
2. REMOVE ONE-WAY CLUTCH ASSEMBLY |
3. REMOVE NO. 1 ONE-WAY CLUTCH THRUST WASHER |
4. REMOVE SUN GEAR SHAFT OIL SEAL RING |
Remove the 2 oil seal rings from the sun gear input drum.
5. REMOVE SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM |
Use a wooden block or similar object as a work stand.
Using snap ring pliers, remove the snap ring.
Remove the input drum from the planetary sun gear.
6. REMOVE SUN GEAR INPUT DRUM SHAFT SNAP RING |
Using a screwdriver, pry out the snap ring from the planetary sun gear.
7. INSPECT PLANETARY SUN GEAR |
Using a dial indicator, measure the inside diameter of the planetary sun gear bushes.
- Maximum inside diameter:
- 27.08 mm (1.0661 in.)
If the inside diameter is more than the maximum, replace the planetary sun gear.
