Extension Housing Rear Oil Seal Replacement

Remove the drain plug and gasket, and drain ATF.

Install a new gasket and the drain plug.

Torque:

20 N*m{205 kgf*cm, 15 ft.*lbf}

Remove the propeller with center bearing shaft (Toyota Fortuner RM000000ZZ3008X.html).

Using SST, remove the oil seal.

Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.

Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.

Standard oil seal depth:

0 +/-0.5 mm (0 +/-0.020 in.)

NOTICE:

Be careful not to damage the lip of the oil seal.

Install the propeller with center bearing shaft (Toyota Fortuner RM000000ZZ1008X.html).

Inspect the automatic transmission fluid (Toyota Fortuner RM0000014P800IX.html).
