Generator Removal


  1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR AND AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  3. REMOVE DRIVE BELT

  4. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

Generator -- Removal



1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected (Toyota Fortuner RM000004W63000X.html).


2. REMOVE INTAKE AIR CONNECTOR AND AIR CLEANER ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the vacuum hose.

  1. Disconnect the No. 2 ventilation hose.

  1. Disconnect the MAF meter connector and wire harness clamps.

  1. Loosen the hose clamp and remove the 4 bolts, air cleaner and intake air connector assembly.



3. REMOVE DRIVE BELT

  1. Use the hexagon-shaped part indicated by the arrow in the illustration to move the tensioner pulley downward and decrease the tension in the drive belt. Then remove the drive belt.

    NOTICE:
    When removing the drive belt, do not use the idle pulley's bolt.
    HINT:
    After removing the drive belt, move the tensioner upward to the maximum position.


4. REMOVE GENERATOR ASSEMBLY

  1. Detach the terminal cap.

  1. Remove the nut, bolt and generator wire.

  1. Disconnect the generator connector.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and generator.
