Engine Oil Cooler Removal


  1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT

  2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

  3. REMOVE OIL FILTER

  4. REMOVE ENGINE OIL COOLER

  5. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET

Engine Oil Cooler -- Removal



1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT


  1. Remove the radiator cap.

  1. Loosen the 2 cylinder block drain cock plugs and radiator drain cock plug, and then drain the coolant.

    HINT:
    Collect the coolant in a container and dispose of it according to the regulations in your area.


2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER

  1. Remove the 2 nuts and V-bank cover.



3. REMOVE OIL FILTER

  1. Remove the drain pipe cap.

  1. While removing the oil filter with SST, collect the oil from the oil filter in a container.

    SST
    09228-07501
  1. Install the drain pipe cap.

  1. Clean the container.



4. REMOVE ENGINE OIL COOLER
  1. Disconnect the 2 hoses from the oil cooler.

  1. Remove the union bolt, plate washer and oil cooler.

  1. Remove the O-ring from the oil cooler.



5. REMOVE OIL FILTER BRACKET
  1. Remove the 2 nuts, 3 bolts, oil filter bracket and O-ring.
