DTC P2226 Barometric Pressure Circuit

DTC P2228 Barometric Pressure Circuit Low Input

DTC P2229 Barometric Pressure Circuit High Input

DESCRIPTION

The ECM uses its built-in atmospheric pressure sensor to detect atmospheric pressure. Following the changes in the atmospheric pressure, the ECM corrects the fuel injection volume, timing and duration, and adjusts the common rail internal fuel pressure in order to optimize engine combustion.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the intelligent tester. Freeze frame data records the engine conditions when a malfunction is detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was running or stopped, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
NOTICE:
If the ECM is replaced, the new ECM needs initialization (Toyota Fortuner RM000000TIN04NX.html).
1.CHECK OTHER DTC OUTPUT (IN ADDITION TO DTC P2226 OR P2228 OR P2229)
  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch ON and turn the tester ON.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / DTC.

  1. Read the DTCs.
