Initialization 2AD-FHV

CATALYST RECORD OF DPNR THERMAL DETERIORATION CLEAR FUNCTION

HINT:

When a DPNR catalyst is replaced, the catalyst record of DPNR thermal deterioration stored in the ECM must be cleared.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

  3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Catalyst Record Clear.

  4. Press "Next".

  5. Press "Exit".

SUPPLY PUMP INITIALIZATION PROCEDURE

HINT:

After replacing the supply pump and/or the ECM:
  1. If the engine is defective or stalls immediately after startup, the ECM's learned values must be initialized. The engine can be initialized through the intelligent tester or by short circuiting DLC3 terminals.
  2. If the engine starts normally, initialization is not necessary. Perform procedure "A" and procedure "B" only.

  1. Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3.

  2. Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn the tester ON.

     

    NOTICE:
     
    Do not start the engine.

     

     

  3. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Utility / Supply Pump Initialization.

  4. Press "Next".

  5. Press "Next".

  6. Press "Exit".

  7. Start the engine to check if the initialization is complete. If the engine cannot be started, repeat the initialization procedures from the beginning (procedure "A").

  8. Idle the engine for at least 1 minute under the following conditions (procedure "B"):

    1. The ECT sensor is 60°C (140°F) or more.
    2. The fuel temperature is 20°C (68°F) or more.

    NOTICE:

    Do not race the engine immediately after starting the engine. After warming up the engine, racing the engine is acceptable.

    HINT:

    1. The water temperature can be estimated by touching the outlet hose.
    2. The fuel temperature can be estimated by using the ambient temperature as a substitute.
    3. If the water temperature is difficult to estimate, use the intelligent tester and enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Coolant Temp.

     

     

  9. Initialization is complete.
