Turbocharger Removal

Remove the engine from the vehicle (see page RAV4_ACA30 RM0000019Y9008X.html).

Remove the 5 bolts and No.1 manifold converter insulator.

Remove the 3 bolts and No.2 manifold converter insulator.

Disconnect the 2 exhaust gas temperature sensor connectors.

Remove the bolt, nut and No.1 manifold stay.

Remove the 3 bolts No.2 manifold stay.

Remove the 2 bolts, nut and No.2 exhaust manifold stay.

Remove the 3 nuts, manifold converter and turbine outlet elbow gasket.

Remove the 2 bolts, and then remove the insulator.

Using needle-nose pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the No. 1 turbo water hose.

УКАЗАНИЕ:

Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the No. 1 turbo water hose because water in the hose may spill out.

Remove the bolt and gasket, then remove the pipe.

Using needle-nose pliers, grip the claws of the clip and slide the clip to disconnect the No. 3 water by-pass hose.

УКАЗАНИЕ:

Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the No. 3 water by-pass hose because water in the hose may spill out.

Remove the 2 bolts and gasket, and then remove the pipe.

Remove the 4 bolts and 2 gaskets, and then remove the pipe.

УКАЗАНИЕ:

Place a container under the connection before disconnecting the turbo oil outlet pipe because oil in the pipe may spill out.

Remove the 2 bolts and 2 gaskets.

Disconnect the 2 vacuum hoses to remove the turbo oil pipe.

Remove the 2 nuts and 2 spacers, and then remove the turbocharger stay.

Remove the 3 nuts, turbocharger and gasket.
