Differential Oil Seal -- Replacement |
1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH |
2. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH |
3. DRAIN MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL |
Remove the filler plug and the gasket.
Remove the drain plug and gasket, and then drain the manual transaxle oil.
4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY |
5. REMOVE TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL |
Using SST, remove the transaxle case oil seal.

6. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL |
Using SST, remove the transmission case oil seal.
- SST

7. INSTALL TRANSAXLE CASE OIL SEAL |
Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.
Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.
- SST
- 09608-10010
09950-70010(09951-07200)
- Standard depth:
- -0.5 to 0.5 mm (-0.0197 to 0.0197 in.)
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the oil seal lip.

8. INSTALL TRANSMISSION CASE OIL SEAL |
Coat the lip of a new oil seal with MP grease.
Using SST and a hammer, tap in the oil seal.
- SST
- 09608-32010
09950-70010(09951-07200)
- Standard depth:
- 3.0 to 4.0 mm (0.118 to 0.158 in.)
- NOTICE:
- Do not damage the oil seal lip.

9. INSTALL FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY |
10. ADD MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL |
Install a new gasket and the drain plug.
- Torque:
- 49 N*m{499 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf}
Add manual transaxle oil.

Install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.
- Torque:
- 49 N*m{499 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf}
11. INSPECT MANUAL TRANSAXLE OIL |

Stop the vehicle in a level place.
Remove the transmission filler plug and the gasket.
Check that the oil surface is within 5 mm (0.197 in.) of the bottom of the transmission filler plug opening.
- NOTICE:
- Excessively large or small amounts of oil may cause problems.
- After replacing the oil, drive the vehicle and check the oil level again.
Check for oil leakage when the oil level is low.
Install the transmission filler plug and a new gasket.
- Torque:
- 49 N*m{499 kgf*cm, 36 ft.*lbf}
