INSTALL STARTER ARMATURE ASSEMBLY

INSTALL STARTER COMMUTATOR END FRAME ASSEMBLY

INSTALL STARTER DRIVE HOUSING ASSEMBLY

INSTALL REPAIR SERVICE STARTER KIT

Apply high-temperature grease to the planetary gears of the planetary shaft.

Install the 3 planetary gears.

Insert the plate to the starter center bearing clutch.

Check that the tab of the plate fits over the tab of the starter center bearing clutch.

Install the starter armature to the starter center bearing clutch.

Align the tab of the starter center bearing clutch with the notch of the starter yoke, and install the starter yoke.

Install the brush holder.

Using a screwdriver, hold the brush spring back and connect the brush into the brush holder.

Connect the 4 brushes.

Install the starter commutator end frame with the 2 screws.

• Torque:
• 3.8 N*m{ 39 kgf*cm, 33 in.*lbf}

Install the starter pinion drive lever to the starter center bearing clutch.

Install the rubber seal to the starter pinion drive lever.

Align the 2 protrusions of the starter center bearing clutch with the 2 cutouts of the starter drive housing, and install the starter center bearing clutch to the starter drive housing.

Using a "torx" wrench (T25), install the starter drive housing with the 2 bolts.

• Torque:
• 6.0 N*m{ 61 kgf*cm, 53 in.*lbf}

Hook the plunger hook on the upper side of the starter pinion drive lever.

Install the spring to the starter magnetic switch.

Install the repair service starter kit with the 3 nuts.

• Torque:
• 2.3 N*m{ 23 kgf*cm, 20 in.*lbf}

Connect the lead wire to terminal C with the nut.

• Torque:
• 5.9 N*m{ 60 kgf*cm, 52 in.*lbf}
