Check the free to lock switch.

Detach the 2 connector clamps and wire harness clamp.

Install a new gasket.
Rear Differential Carrier Assembly (W/ Differential Lock) - Reassembly
Install the 2 thrust washers to the 2 side gears.
Rear Differential Carrier Assembly (W/ Differential Lock) - Disassembly
Using a dial indicator, measure the vertical and lateral runout of the companion flange.
- Maximum Runout:
Runout Specified Condition Vertical runout 0.10 mm (0.00394 in.) Lateral runout 0.10 mm (0.00394 in.)
If the runout is more than the maximum, replace the companion flange.

Turn the engine switch on (IG).
