  1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

  2. REMOVE NO. 3 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

  3. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

Park / Neutral Position Switch -- Removal



1. REMOVE FRONT EXHAUST PIPE ASSEMBLY

2. REMOVE NO. 3 FRONT FLOOR HEAT INSULATOR

  1. Remove the 4 nuts and No. 3 front floor heat insulator.



3. DISCONNECT FLOOR SHIFT GEAR SHIFTING ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY

  1. Remove the clip and pin, and disconnect the floor shift gear shifting rod sub-assembly from the transmission control shaft lever.



4. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

  1. Disconnect the switch connector.

  1. Remove the nut, spring washer and transmission control shaft lever.

  1. Remove the bush from the transmission control shaft lever.

  1. Remove the No. 1 floor shift bush from the transmission control shaft lever.

  1. Using a screwdriver, bend the tabs of the lock washer.

    HINT:
    Tape the screwdriver tip before use.

  1. Remove the lock nut and lock washer.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and park/neutral position switch assembly.

    HINT:
    Make sure that the manual valve lever shaft has not been rotated prior to installing the park/neutral position switch assembly as the detent spring may become detached from the manual valve lever shaft.
