DESCRIPTION
While the engine is being cranked, current flows from terminal STAR of the certification ECU (smart key ECU assembly) to the park/neutral position switch assembly and to terminal STA of the ECM (STA signal).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

- Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

2.READ VALUE USING GTS (STARTER SIGNAL) |
Connect the GTS to the DLC3.
Turn the engine switch on (IG).
Turn the GTS on.
Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine and ECT / Data List / Starter Signal.
Check the value displayed on the GTS when the engine switch is turned to the START.
- OK:

3.INSPECT STARTER RELAY (ST) |
Inspect the starter relay (ST) (Click here).
| REPLACE STARTER RELAY (ST) |

Inspect the starter (Click here).
5.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (ST RELAY - STARTER) |
Remove the starter relay (ST) from the engine room relay block.
Disconnect the starter connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
- Standard Resistance:

Disconnect the PNP switch connector.
Disconnect the smart key ECU assembly connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Inspect the Park/Neutral Position (PNP) switch (Click here).
11.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (PNP SWITCH - ECM, SMART KEY ECU ASSEMBLY) |
Disconnect the smart key ECU assembly connector.
Disconnect the PNP switch connector.
Disconnect the ECM connector.
Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
