REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR)

DTC C1433 Steering Angle Sensor Internal Circuit

DESCRIPTION

Signals from the steering sensor (built in to the spiral cable) are sent to the skid control ECU (built in to the brake actuator assembly) through CAN communication.

DTC Code
DTC Detection Condition
Trouble Area
C1433
With the IG1 terminal voltage 9.5 to 17.4 V, the skid control ECU receives an error signal from the steering angle sensor.

Refer to DTC C1432 (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XIM0FEX_02.html).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

HINT:
  1. When U0073, U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 is output together with C1433, inspect and repair the trouble areas indicated by U0073, U0123, U0124 and/or U0126 first (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000YUO0DIX.html).
  2. When any of the speed sensors or the yaw rate and acceleration sensor has trouble, DTCs for the steering angle sensor may be output even when the steering angle sensor is normal. When DTCs for the speed sensors or yaw rate and acceleration sensor are output together with DTCs for the steering angle sensor, inspect and repair the speed sensor and yaw rate and acceleration sensor first, and then inspect and repair the steering angle sensor.
1.REPLACE SPIRAL CABLE (STEERING ANGLE SENSOR)
  1. Replace the spiral cable (YARIS_NCP93 RM0000033DP00JX.html).

    NOTICE:
    1. Do not remove the steering sensor from the spiral cable.
    2. When replacing the spiral cable, confirm that the replacement part is of the correct specification.
    HINT:
If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (YARIS_NCP93 RM000000XHN0AXX.html).
