REMOVE HEADLIGHT CLEANER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY (w/ Headlight Cleaner System)
Washer Motor -- Removal |
| 1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL |
- NOTICE:
- w/ Navigation System (for HDD):
- After the ignition switch is turned off, the HDD navigation system requires approximately a minute to record various types of memory and settings. As a result, after turning the ignition switch off, wait a minute or more before disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
| 2. REMOVE RADIATOR SUPPORT OPENING COVER |

Remove the 9 clips and radiator support opening cover.
| 3. REMOVE CENTER HOOD CUSHION |
Using a clip remover, remove the center hood cushion.
 |
| 4. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE PROTECTOR |
 |
Remove the 2 radiator grille protectors.
| 5. REMOVE FRONT FENDER FRONT SPLASH SHIELD LH |
 |
Remove the screw, bolt, nut and splash shield.
| 6. REMOVE FRONT FENDER FRONT SPLASH SHIELD RH |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedure described for the LH side.
| 7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER LH |
Using a screwdriver, remove the clip and fender liner retainer.
 |
Remove the screw, nut and bolt.
Partially remove the fender liner.
- HINT:
- It is not necessary to fully remove the fender liner. Partially remove it so that the bumper cover can be removed later.
| 8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER LINER RH |
- HINT:
- Use the same procedures described for the LH side.
| 9. REMOVE FRONT BUMPER COVER |
w/o Under Guard:
Remove the front bumper cover (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000015RJ00HX_01_0003.html).
w/ Under Guard:
Remove the front bumper cover (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PKF001X_01_0006.html).
w/ Hood Moulding:
Remove the front bumper cover (RAV4_ACA30 RM000003PKF007X.html).
| 10. REMOVE WASHER INLET SUB-ASSEMBLY |
Remove the clip.
 |
Pull the washer inlet of the washer jar upward to remove it from the windshield washer jar.
 |
| 11. DRAIN WASHER FLUID |
Remove a washer hose from either of the washer motor and pumps, and drain the washer fluid.
| 12. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER JAR ASSEMBLY (w/o Headlight Cleaner System) |
for Large:
Detach the 3 clamps.
 |
for Small:
Detach the 2 clamps.
Disconnect the 2 connectors.
Remove the 2 washer hoses from the washer motor and pumps.
Remove the 3 screws. Then remove the washer jar.

Detach the 4 clamps.

Disconnect the 4 connectors.

Remove the 3 washer hoses from the washer motor and pumps.
Remove the 3 screws. Then remove the washer jar.

Pull out the headlight cleaner motor and pump from the packing of the washer jar.
| 15. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY |
 |
Remove the washer motor and pump from the packing of the washer jar.
| 16. REMOVE REAR WASHER MOTOR AND PUMP ASSEMBLY |
 |
Remove the washer motor and pump from the packing of the washer jar.
