CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SW - SKID CONTROL ECU/BODY GROUND)

DTC C1379 Downhill Assist Control Switch Malfunction (Test Mode DTC)


DESCRIPTION

DTC C1379 will be cleared when the downhill assist control switch sends a downhill assist control operation signal or when Test Mode ends. DTC C1379 is stored only in Test Mode.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the brake actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration (RAV4_ACA30 RM000001K1O00SX.html).
1.READ VALUE USING INTELLIGENT TESTER (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH)

  1. Check the Data List for proper functioning of the downhill assist control switch.

    ABS/VSC/TRC:
    Tester Display
    		Measurement Item/Range
    		Normal Condition
    		Diagnostic Note
    Downhill Assist Control Switch
    		Downhill assist control switch / ON or OFF
    		ON: Downhill assist control switch is on
    OFF: Downhill assist control switch is off
    		-
    OK:
    The intelligent tester displays ON or OFF according to downhill assist control switch operation.

Go to step 3

2.PERFORM TEST MODE (SIGNAL CHECK)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Perform the sensor check in the Test Mode procedure (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000022CZ007X.html).

    OK:
    All Test Mode DTCs are cleared.
    HINT:
    If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step (RAV4_ACA30 RM000000OS701UX.html).

3.INSPECT DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SWITCH


    Toyota Rav4. Aca30, 33, 38 Gsa33 Zsa30, 35.Brake Control.Anti-Lock Brake System. Dtc C1379 Downhill Assist Control Switch Malfunction (Test Mode Dtc)

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.

  1. Make sure that there is no looseness in the locking part and connecting part of the connector.

  1. Disconnect the downhill assist control switch connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Switch Condition
    		Specified Condition
    1 - 4
    		Switch is pushed
    		Below 1 Ω
    Switch is not pushed
    		10 kΩ or higher
    NOTICE:
    Check the downhill assist control switch signal after replacement (RAV4_ACA30 RM0000022CZ007X.html).

4.CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (DOWNHILL ASSIST CONTROL SW - SKID CONTROL ECU/BODY GROUND)

  1. Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.

  1. Disconnect the downhill assist control switch connector.

  1. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

    Standard Resistance:
    Tester Connection
    		Condition
    		Specified Condition
    A67-29 (HDCS) - E36-4
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
    A67-29 (HDCS) - Body ground
    		Always
    		10 kΩ or higher
    E36-1 - Body ground
    		Always
    		Below 1 Ω
