DESCRIPTION

The i-ART injector detects the fuel temperature from the sensors built into each injector assembly.
The fuel temperature detected inside the injector assembly is sent to the ECM as feedback through the communication line.
The ECM determines that there is a malfunction when the temperature data (voltage value) for each cylinder received from the injector assemblies via INJ communication are above or below a certain value, or when the difference in temperature with other cylinders exceeds a certain value.

  2. When DTC P13C1, P13C2, P13C3, P13C6, P13C7, P13C8, P13CB, P13CC, P13CD, P13D1, P13D2 and/or P13D3 is stored, check the fuel temperature by entering the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Data List / Fuel Temperature #1 to #4.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
After replacing the ECM, the new ECM needs registration (HILUX_TGN26 RM0000012XK05AX.html) and initialization (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000TIN058X.html).
HINT:
Read freeze frame data using the GTS. Freeze frame data records the engine condition when malfunctions are detected. When troubleshooting, freeze frame data can help determine if the vehicle was moving or stationary, if the engine was warmed up or not, and other data from the time the malfunction occurred.
1.CHECK ANY OTHER DTCS OUTPUT
  1. Connect the GTS to the DLC3.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON and turn the GTS on.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

4.REPLACE INJECTOR ASSEMBLY (RELEVANT CYLINDER)
  1. Replace the injector assembly of the cylinder relevant to the DTC (HILUX_TGN26 RM0000044TN00PX.html).

NOTICE:
  1. When replacing the injector assembly for a cylinder, always be sure to use a new injection pipe.
  2. Follow the procedure in the repair manual and temporarily install the injection pipes and nozzle leakage pipe, and then correctly position the injector assemblies. After that, tighten parts according to the torque specifications.
  3. If the installation procedure is not performed correctly, injector assemblies may become out of position, which may cause the injector assemblies to deteriorate, resulting in malfunctions.
  4. If an injector assembly deteriorates and malfunctions, other problems such as knocking, rough idle, etc. may occur.
  5. If an injector assembly becomes out of position, it is possible that the seal between the injector assembly and injection pipe may become incomplete, resulting in a fuel leak.

  1. Clear the DTCs (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000PDK12TX.html).

  1. Turn the ignition switch off for 30 seconds or more.

  1. Turn the ignition switch to ON for 8 seconds or more.

  1. Enter the following menus: Powertrain / Engine / Trouble Codes.

  1. Confirm that the DTC is not output again.
