1. INSPECT ENGINE OIL QUALITY |
Check the oil for deterioration, water contamination, discoloration or thinning.
If the quality is visibly poor, replace the oil and oil filter (HILUX_TGN26 RM000000YM5017X.html).
2. INSPECT ENGINE OIL LEVEL |
Warm up the engine, and then stop the engine and wait for 5 minutes.
If the oil level is low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.
Check that the engine oil level is between the low level and full level marks on the dipstick.
If low, check for leakage and add oil up to the full level mark.- NOTICE:
- Do not fill engine oil above the full level mark.
3. INSPECT OIL PRESSURE |
Remove the engine oil pressure switch (HILUX_TGN26 RM000003PJP012X.html).
Install an oil pressure gauge.

Warm up the engine.
Check the oil pressure under the following conditions.
- Standard Oil Pressure:
Condition Specified Condition Idle 29 kPa (0.3 kgf/cm2, 4.2 psi) or higher 3000 rpm 160 to 490 kPa (1.6 to 5.0 kgf/cm2, 23 to 71 psi)
Remove the oil pressure gauge.
Install the engine oil pressure switch (HILUX_TGN26 RM000003PJM012X.html).
