DESCRIPTION
DTC B1797 is output when the following conditions are met:- Zero point calibration is performed when the conditions for the calibration are not satisfied.
- Zero point calibration has failed.

- HINT:
- When DTC B1650/32 is detected as a result of troubleshooting for the airbag system, check the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU. When DTC B1797 is output, perform troubleshooting for the DTC.
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
1.CHECK FOR DTC |
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).
Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor assembly (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON, and wait for at least 10 seconds.
Check for DTCs (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).
- OK:
- DTC B1797 is not output.
- HINT:
- Codes other than B1797 may be output at this time, but they are not related to this check.

Turn the ignition switch to ON.

3.CHECK FOR DTC |
- HINT:
- Check that the zero point calibration is completed normally. If any of the following conditions is met, DTC B1797 will be output (Refer to Initialization: COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VN07SX.html).
Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor assembly (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Check for DTCs (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).
- OK:
- DTC B1797 is not output.
NEXT
4.PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Using the Techstream, perform the zero point calibration (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VN07SX.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Clear the DTCs stored in the memory (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).
- HINT:
- If the DTCs are not cleared at this time, past DTCs will remain.

5.CHECK FOR DTC Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).

Turn the ignition switch off.

6.REPLACE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR (FRONT SEAT CUSHION ASSEMBLY) Turn the ignition switch off.
Disconnect the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal.
Replace the front seat cushion assembly (with occupant classification ECU and occupant classification sensor) (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000001Q5I017X.html).
Connect the cable to the negative (-) battery terminal.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Clear the DTCs stored in the occupant classification ECU (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).
Clear the DTCs stored in the center airbag sensor assembly (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000XFE0H1X.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Using the Techstream, check for occupant classification ECU DTCs (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VK07TX.html).
- OK:
- DTC is not output.

7.PERFORM ZERO POINT CALIBRATION Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
Turn the ignition switch to ON.
Using the Techstream, perform the zero point calibration (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM0000010VN07SX.html).
Turn the ignition switch off.
