  2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

  3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY

  4. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH

  5. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK COVER RH

  6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

  7. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH

  8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH

  9. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

  10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD RH

  11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD RH

  12. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR

  13. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU

Front Seat Cushion Assembly (W/ Occupant Classification Ecu, Occupant Classification Sensor) -- Removal



1. PRECAUTION
CAUTION:
Be sure to read Precaution thoroughly before servicing (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000000KT10H0X.html).
NOTICE:
When replacing the occupant classification ECU, perform registration (COROLLA_ZRE142 RM000001QX402OX.html).


2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.


3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT HEADREST ASSEMBLY


4. REMOVE OUTER SEAT TRACK COVER RH

  1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the foremost position.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the outer seat track cover.



5. REMOVE INNER SEAT TRACK COVER RH


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the inner seat track cover.



6. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the rear side of the seat.

  1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the rearmost position.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts on the front side of the seat.

  1. Lift up the seat track adjusting handle and move the seat to the center position. Also, operate the reclining adjuster release handle and move the seatback to the upright position.

  1. Disconnect the connectors under the front seat assembly.

  1. Remove the front seat assembly.

    NOTICE:
    Be careful not to damage the vehicle body.


7. REMOVE RECLINING ADJUSTER RELEASE HANDLE RH

  1. Using a screwdriver wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the reclining adjuster release handle.



8. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION SHIELD RH


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Remove the 3 screws.

  1. Disengage the claw.

  1. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the front seat cushion shield.



9. SEPARATE FRONT SEAT INNER BELT ASSEMBLY RH

  1. Disconnect each connector and clamp.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Remove the nut and the front seat inner belt assembly.



10. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION INNER SHIELD RH


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Remove the screw.

  1. Disengage the claw.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Separate the guide and remove the front seat cushion inner shield as shown in the illustration.



11. REMOVE FRONT SEAT CUSHION COVER WITH PAD RH


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Disengage the hook.



    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Remove the 2 hog rings.



  1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

  1. Disengage the hooks and remove the front seat cushion cover with pad as shown in the illustration.



12. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION SENSOR


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141.Supplemental Restraint Systems.Airbag System.Front Seat Cushion Assembly (W/ Occupant Classification Ecu, Occupant Classification Sensor) Removal

  1. Disconnect the connector.

  1. Using a screwdriver with the tip wrapped with protective tape, disengage the claw and remove the connector and clamp as shown in the illustration.

    NOTICE:
    Do not kink the pressure hose.

  1. Using a clip remover, disengage the 2 clips and remove the occupant classification sensor.

    NOTICE:
    When the occupant classification sensor is replaced, be sure to replace the occupant classification ECU as a set.


13. REMOVE OCCUPANT CLASSIFICATION ECU


    Corolla. Zre142 Aze141

  1. Disconnect the connector from the occupant classification ECU.

  1. Remove the 2 screws and occupant classification ECU.
