REMOVE 2ND GEAR BEARING SPACER
REMOVE 2ND GEAR BUSH
REMOVE 2ND GEAR BUSH BALL
REMOVE 1ST GEAR
REMOVE NO. 1 SYNCHRONIZER RING SET
REMOVE 1ST GEAR NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING
REMOVE FRONT OUTPUT SHAFT BEARING
REMOVE REVERSE GEAR
Output Shaft -- Disassembly |
1. INSPECT 1ST GEAR THRUST CLEARANCE |
Using a feeler gauge, measure the thrust clearance.
- Standard clearance:
- 0.25 to 0.40 mm (0.0098 to 0.0157 in.)
If the clearance is out of the specification, replace the 1st gear or No. 1 transaxle clutch hub.
2. INSPECT 2ND GEAR THRUST CLEARANCE |
Using a dial indicator, measure the thrust clearance.
- Standard clearance:
- 0.10 to 0.35 mm (0.0039 to 0.0138 in.)
If the clearance is out of the specification, replace the No. 1 transaxle clutch hub, 2nd gear or 3rd driven gear.
3. INSPECT 1ST GEAR RADIAL CLEARANCE |
Using a dial indicator, measure the radial clearance.
- Standard clearance:

If the clearance is out of the specification, replace the 1st gear and 1st gear needle roller bearing.
4. INSPECT 2ND GEAR RADIAL CLEARANCE |
Using a dial indicator, measure the radial clearance.
- Standard clearance:

If the clearance is out of the specification, replace the 2nd gear, 2nd gear bush and 2nd gear needle roller bearing.
5. REMOVE 4TH DRIVEN GEAR |
Using SST and a press, press out the output shaft rear bearing (inner race) and 4th driven gear.

6. REMOVE OUTPUT GEAR SPACER |
Remove the output gear spacer from the output shaft.
Using SST and a press, press out the 3rd driven gear and 2nd gear from the output shaft.

8. REMOVE NO. 2 SYNCHRONIZER RING SET |
Remove the No. 2 synchronizer ring set from the No. 1 transaxle clutch hub.
9. REMOVE 2ND GEAR NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING |
Remove the needle roller bearing from the output shaft.
10. REMOVE 2ND GEAR BEARING SPACER |
Remove the bearing spacer from the output shaft.
Remove the bush from the output shaft.
12. REMOVE 2ND GEAR BUSH BALL |
Using a magnetic finger, remove the bush ball from the output shaft.
Using SST and a press, remove the No. 1 transaxle clutch hub and 1st gear from the output shaft.

14. REMOVE NO. 1 SYNCHRONIZER RING SET |
Remove the No. 1 synchronizer ring set from the 1st gear.
15. REMOVE 1ST GEAR NEEDLE ROLLER BEARING |
Remove the needle roller bearing from the output shaft.
16. REMOVE FRONT OUTPUT SHAFT BEARING |
Using SST and a press, press out the front bearing (inner race) from the output shaft.

- ПРИМЕЧАНИЕ:
- Do not overtighten SST.
Remove the No. 1 transaxle clutch hub, 3 No. 1 synchromesh shifting keys and 3 No. 1 synchromesh shifting key springs from the reverse gear.
